Our Stock Steel

We provide a wide range of hard to find steels. We have a large range of EN9, EN45, EN47 ,EN42, CS70 CS80 HT & 01 TOOL STEEL in stock. We can boast one of the widest ranges of Spring Steels and Carbon Steels anywhere. We will Export Worldwide

EN9 Carbon Steel

EN9 carbon steel is a medium carbon steel grade that has been rolled into many different forms. It has a good surface hardness and wear resistance when induction hardened, making it ideal for use in automotive, engineering and mining applications. EN9 can also be flame hardened to give a high degree of surface hardness.

EN45 Spring Steel

EN45 Spring Steel is a high carbon alloy steel that is used for swords, automative leaf springs, heavy spring parts and some customized knives. The steel is oil hardening and tempering and can be formed into a variety of different shapes and sizes. EN45 Spring Steel has a high tensile strength and is corrosion resistant.

More Info

01 Tool Steel

01 Tool Steel is an oil hardening, general purpose tool steel that is characterized by good toughness, wear resistance, and cutting edge properties. It can be supplied in the annealed condition where it has good ductility and machinability or in the prehardened condition.

More Info

EN47 Spring Steel

EN47 is good for a wide range of oil hardening and tempering. When used in these conditions EN47 steel combines the spring attribute with good damge and abrasion protection. When hardened EN47 provides high levels toughness and shock resistance which make it a suitable alloy spring steel for parts exposed to stress, shock and vibration. EN47 spring steel is supplied as many forms in a rolled condition.

EN42T Spring Steel

EN42T is a carbon spring steel grade with an average carbon content of 0.70%. Normally supplied with a polished finish, the steet is available with dressed edges or sheared edges slit to your required width. EN42T annealed is available in sheet hardened and tempered to conforming to BS970 specification. This can be cut to your length as required.

CS70 Spring Steel

This grade is a carbon spring steel with an average carbon content of 0.70%. It can be suppliered in hardened and tempered spring steel strip, sheet and plate. Meeting the BS1449 and BS5770 specification. CS70 strips is mainly supplied with a polished finish. Hardened and tempered condition is recommended for spring applications. CS70 annealed is available as plate, sheet and strip.

More Info

CS80 Spring Steel

This grade is a carbon spring steel with an average carbon content of 0.80%. It can be suppliered in hardened and tempered spring steel strip, sheet and plate. Meeting the BS1449 and BS5770 specification. CS80 strips is mainly supplied with a polished finish. Hardened and tempered condition is recommended for spring applications. CS80 annealed is available as plate, sheet and strip.

75Cr1 Carbon Steel

75Cr1 is a high carbon steel with a carbon content between 0.74% and 0.80%. The addition of chromium facilitates the heat treatment process and allows higher hardness to be achieved.  75Cr1 steel is a variation and to the US specification 1075. It is a high carbon steel sheet grade supplied in either hardened and tempered or annealed condition.

80CrV2 Knife Steel

80CrV2 steel is a traditionally cast, high-carbon tool steel that contains chromium and vanadium in high quantities . This affecta the strength and hardness of the crystalline matrix of the steel. Vanadium is an element that is added to steels that are normally used to produce great edge retention. Vanadium is higly recommended in knife-making because it produces very durable carbides at the molecular level of the cutting edge. Tool steel, heavy equipment, and even nuclear reactors use vanadium in their construction.

301 TR Stainless Steel

301 TR is an austenitic stainless, widely used for the manufacture of small springs, as it doesnt require heat treatment. It is also suitable for stainless feeler gauge stock, precision foils, stainless springs and parts that require higher strength. 301 TR has a chemical composition of 1.4310 meaning it is non magnetic in its soft condition.  However, the cold working necessary to finish the material results in a changing its magnetisable constituents.

1095 Knife Steel

1095 Knife Steel is precision ground flat stock, gauge plate and silver steel, plus hard to find tool and stainless steels as well as popular knife making steels from leading UK and European mills. 1095 is a great steel to get started in the world of knife and tool making. Capable of higher hardness with decent toughness and a not too difficult heat treatment.

15n20 Knife Steel

15n20 Knife Steel is precision ground flat stock, gauge plate and silver steel, plus hard to find tool and stainless steels as well as popular knife making steels from leading UK and European mills. 15n20 has a high level of Nickel at 2% which will resist the acid etch when making Damascus steel. On it's own it is still a decent blade steel with a good to average edge holding ability.
